Explorer 40MM on 7 Inch Wrist. Hi folks, I tried on the 40MM Explorer today. I'm used to wearing 42MM sports watches - this felt surprisingly similar. I feel it wears slightly larger than my Sub Date (116610) but not as much as the measurements would indicate. The . The 36mm Explorer is designed to wear on the small side, so it does not get in the way of whatever you are doing, be it mountain climbing or desk surfing. My seven-inch wrist feels balanced when I oscillate the anti-reflective coated sapphire top hat to peek into the almost Lovecraftian, inky black dial. But instead of cosmic dread, I am rejuvenated by its magic eight-ball vastness. I have the mark 2 and it is the perfect size for my 7.5 inch wrist and the perfect cure to the T-Rex arms on its predecessor.
